Orlando International Airport opened their Flybrary this week.
It's a reading and play space inside their brand new Family Zone - Terminal C, gates C240 to C245. Complete with Billy the Swan, a nod to Orlando's iconic swan boats, and a Kidszone running our Storytime collection so kids can read, play and just exist somewhere calm between flights.
It's the kind of space that makes a terminal feel like someone actually thought about the families moving through it.
What is a Kidszone?
Play9 Kidszones are interactive gaming screens designed specifically for commercial environments - airports, shopping malls and hospitals. Not consumer screens bolted to a wall. Purpose-built, award-winning hardware with a games and content subscription behind it.
Every Kidszone connects to our IM Platform - giving operators real-time anonymous session data, peak time reporting and engagement metrics. The airport team can see exactly how the space is performing without any privacy compromise.
Unlimited content changes mean the experience never goes stale. Storytime one week. Games the next. Seasonal content. Educational content. Whatever the operator wants to schedule - changed remotely, from anywhere in the world.
Why US airports are moving on this now
Family experience has quietly become one of the most competitive spaces in airport passenger experience strategy.
Families arrive earlier than other passenger groups. They dwell longer. They spend more at retail during that dwell time. And they remember how an airport made them feel - for better or worse.
The airports investing in family experience aren't doing it out of goodwill. They're doing it because the data supports it. And the ones doing it well are the ones with a platform that shows them the numbers.
Orlando is one of the busiest airports in the United States. Their decision to build out dedicated Family Zones - not one, but multiple across the terminal - is a signal the rest of the US market will pay attention to.

Play9 Studios in US airports
Play9 Studios has been designing and installing Kidszones in airports globally since 2009. Heathrow. Sydney. Orlando. Dozens more across six continents.
The US market is moving fast. The airports investing now will set the standard. The ones that wait will be catching up.
If family experience is on your agenda for 2026 - we'd love to talk.
