Epworth Hospital - Children's Hospital Ward Makeover

Most hospital corridors look like hospital corridors. This one doesn't.
The Epworth paediatric ward brief was to create something children notice the moment they arrive — and don't stop noticing. The entrance sets it up immediately. A projection wall drops into open ocean. Sandy shore, palm trees, water. From there, full illustrated artwork runs the length of the ward. Characters tucked into every corner. A blue fish to spot. A bird hiding near room four. Small things that give kids something to do while they walk, and something to come back for.
Every room has decals. The corridor has a reason to look at it. By the time a child reaches the playroom at the end, they've already been somewhere.
The playroom itself is where the Kidszone Classic lives — alongside a play boat, interactive wall art and flooring chosen for the space. Everything specified for a clinical environment. Commercial grade, easy to clean, built for the reality of a busy paediatric ward.
The IM Platform runs content remotely. Games scheduled, updated and managed without a site visit. The ward team don't touch it. This is what a full play strategy looks like. It starts at the entrance and doesn't stop until the child leaves.
